Cooperstown Bears
This high quality line of teddy bears was developed in 1993 by American Needle to satisfy the “real fan” for team loyalty. The initial offerings were for the inaugural season of the Florida Marlins and Colorado Rockies. The instant success encouraged growth in the concept and a group of series were developed.
There were “plush” 16-inch teddies representing teams and their star players by the famous numbers on the back, i.e. Willie Mays #24, Tom Seaver #41, etc. Following this introduction came the super deluxe high-end 21 inch 100% German mohair player licensed teddies i.e. Ernie Banks, Ted Williams, Lou Gehrig, etc.
The bears are all numbered, gift boxed, certified and highly collectible-mostly (80%) by men!
Legends Sports Gallery became a major player in this business and has the widest selection in the country.
